Throughout the world we have differing traditional Christmas meals. In the UK we have turkey, goose or other meats. Often we want to break away from tradition and taste a different type of Christmas food. Perhaps a gourmet hamper or even have a meal served to us by expert caterers or our local restaurant. To the vast majority, Christmas isn't Christmas without that big roast turkey, yet roasting the perfect turkey can be a problem. Getting the weight and cooking time right, to suff or not to stuff?, what is the best wine to go with poultry? Hopefully all the answers are right here. How about a real Christmas plum pudding and traditional Christmas cake. I enjoy my Christmas cake with stilton ... don't knock 'til you've tried it! Don't forget the vintage port and fine brandy. New year celebrations can't pass without champagne or sparkling wine.

"Eleven years ago, my friend, Holly Murphy and I decided to bake some cookies together so that we could bake twice as many and share them. I went to the bookstore in search of some new cookie recipe books for our little venture. I found one entitled "The Wellesley Cookie Exchange" and bought each of us a copy. "Why don't we do a cookie exchange like they do in this book", I suggested to Holly. "We can then sample dozens of cookies that we don't have to bake!" She loved the idea and now it's been many years and thousands of cookies later. At the time I lived in Santa Barbara, California and Holly and I co-hosted the exchanges together. When our family moved to Maryland, I knew this holiday tradition had to be kept going. Boy, would I have missed having everyone walk through the front door with hundreds of cookies! "
